2017 OBX Brewathlon Adventure Race Specifications
The race will include most of the adventure and leisure activities that the Outer Banks is known for:
- Corn hole
- Standup Paddle boarding
Each physical activity will be followed directly after with a recreational, traditional beer drinking game to keep it low stakes, fun and unique. The race can be split up as a team event/relay or a one many show “Ironman” entrance.
Individual and Team Events
There will be 3 heats for the Brewathlon Adventure Race: male, female and relay. All heats will compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher accolades for the Brewathlon Adventure Race by their completions times of the event. Relay teams will consist of three members: 1 kayaker, 1 SUPer and 1 runner. Relay teams can be coed, and may include guys and girls.

Registration: 9 AM, Kitty Hawk Kayak & Surf School, 6150 North Croatan HWY, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949
Start Time: 10 AM
Entry Fee: $59.00/participant includes event tee shirt, $159 for a 3 person relay team includes event tee shirt.
2017 OBX Brewathlon Adventure Race Course
- The race will begin at Kitty Hawk Kayak & Surf with the stand up paddleboard leg of the race. Participants will head north on a 1 mile loop head onto Jean Guite Creek.
- Participants will have to score 5 points in the corn hole toss before launching their kayaks for the kayaking portion of the race.
- After scoring 5 points in the corn hole toss, participants will then launch their kayaks and paddle 2 miles south through the Kitty Hawk Woods Maritime Forest Preserve towards the Kitty Hawk Boat Launch on Bob Perry Road.
- Participants will then exit their kayaks and run 2.5 miles back north along Bob Perry Road and Woods Road bike path to finish the race at Sandy Run Park off Woods Road in Kitty Hawk.
