Our most popular SUP tour location, the Kitty Hawk Stand Up Paddle Tour is excellent for first timers and young SUPers.
The Kitty Hawk Stand Up Paddle Tour explores the calm bays and sheltered waters of Kitty Hawk, an ideal place to learn how to stand up paddleboard for the first time. This tour leaves standup paddleboarding from our shop in Kitty Hawk and explores the North Carolina Coastal Reserve, one of the few intact maritime forest environments on the Outer Banks. We will also paddle the salt marsh waterways between Martin’s Point and Southern Shores. The Kitty Hawk Stand Up Paddle Tour is just for you.
This is THE BEST locale for beginners and to get on the water on windy days because of the shelter provided by Live Oaks and Loblolly Pine trees insuring smooth waters, even during the Outer Banks’ strong and freuent Nor’easters!
Learn to surf on the Outer Banks in one of our daily surf lessons. Lesson includes ocean safety, surfboard anatomy 101, paddling technique, proper pop up and foot placement and help in the water to catch as many waves as you can.
We are now offering Outer Banks SUP Yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings all summer long at 7:30am. This introduction to the possibilities of your yoga practice on a stand up paddleboard is a great way to explore the possibilities of yoga from an SUP.
Our shop is located on a calm bay of the Currituck Sound so it is always EPIC SUPing conditions. Perfect for SUP Lessons, Tours or hourly Rentals. No matter what the wind direction the water is always glassy here.

We shove off right from the beach with the best beginner surf breaks on the island to get you catching and SUPing waves in no time.
These lessons are offered on an individual basis so call or email us and we can set up a SUP surf lesson for you. These lessons typically go out at 9am in the morning as the best winds and low crowds at the beach in the am allow us total freedom to catch as many waves as possible in the 1.5 hour lesson.
A typical SUP surf lesson begins with a safety talk and learning the anatomy of a surfboard. Next paddling techniques, balance and feet positioning are discussed. Participants then practice popping up onto the surfboard on the beach before getting wet. The instructor is there to help you catch waves and answer any questions you might have about surfing, the ocean, waves, or surf culture.
You should be a competent SUPer in flat water before taking a surf lesson.
The Kitty Hawk Woods Maritime Forest Kayak Tour is hands down one of the best family ecotours experiences to be had on the islands of the OBX. A beginner friendly environment explores a calm, glassy creek that meanders through the natural glory of one of North Carolina’s largest tract of deciduous maritime forest habitat.
